SkyTechSport Ski Simulator
I was invited by fellow teammate and friend, Chris Rogers, to work with SkyTechSport on their simulator in their showroom located in Los Angeles, CA. The project was simple. They wanted us to shoot some social media tips and tips for YouTube. I had never been on the simulator before so I was interested in trying it.
It took me a little while (about 15 minutes) to trust the machine. How it works is there are two cables and 4 motors that essentially pull against each other. It was pretty cool how it simulated skiing. It is not exactly the real thing, but very close to it. I would say about 90% like the real thing. It is also a great and tiring workout.
On the day that we shot many of my ski tips, I skied for approximately 47 minutes. In that time, I was able to ski 3,220 turns. My legs were so tired. It is a a great workout. The only down side I can see is that sometimes, I was hitting into the side of my boot with a great lateral force that my feet got a little tired. The cool thing is that the skis on the machine move forward and aft. Thus, I was able to make a lead change or allow for that to happen. It was surprising.
The SkyTechSport team is so cool and very supportive. I want a machine of my own now. I have to figure out how to get one here. It was a great trip and one that I am very thankful for getting the invite.
